Remittances Summit

WEBWIRE

Now in its seventh year this Summit is a must attend for anyone who is interested in the International Money Transfers Industry.  As every year the International Association of Money Transfer Networks (IAMTN) is inviting money transfer professionals from all over the world to the major event of the industry - the Global Money Transfer Summit.

This year’s London Summit will take place on 7th & 8th November 2012 at London Hilton Docklands Riverside. The event is open to IAMTN members and non-members alike and attracts delegates from across the world who come not only to hear from our fantastic array of speakers but also to meet their fellow industry partners.  In particular they are looking to cement existing relationships or create new ones.  Already we have an exceptional list of speakers who will cover items ranging from the big trends that are affecting the global environment for payments, the review of the PSD, new methods of making payments, social media right through to the nitty-gritty of anti-money laundering.  In a well-balanced agenda there will be a day of plenary sessions as well as a day of workshops.

The purpose of the conference is to inform the money transfer operators, banks, foreign exchange houses, technology providers and other delegates of the trends that we are seeing and anticipating in the money transfer market. We have an exceptional list of speakers who will cover items ranging from the big trends that are affecting the global environment for payments, the review of the PSD, new methods of making payments, social media right through to the nitty-gritty of anti-money laundering.

The four main UK Government Policy and implementation bodies - Her Majesty’s Treasury, the Financial Services Authority, Her Majesty’s Customs and Revenue and the Serious Organised Crime Authority will update the audience on current trends and new initiatives in this area. The International Association of Money Trasnfer Networks recently contributed making a key-note presentation at the Global Remittances Working Group in Tokyo. The challenges to access to bank accounts, continues to be a priority for IAMTN’s members. It was well received and there is clearly support from GRWG members (the G20 countries).

This is one of many areas that we are also going to address during the Summit next week. In addition, the coveted IAMTN awards will be presented to the deserving winners.
