Drinking Games announced the official launch of the Kings online drinking game this week.  The game is based on an electronic deck of 52 cards that are randomly selected by “spinning” a virtual beer mug.  Based on the original game of Kings commonly played at colleges, bars and parties around the world, online Kings is virtually identical.

The online version of the game can be played at: http://drinkinggames.me/kings-drinking-game/

“We basically recreated the Kings drinking game in an online format,” said Russ Hudson, founder of DrinkingGames.ME.  “Players take turns selecting cards and following the instructions on each, which can include anything from assigning a certain number of drinks among the other players, to having to enter into a sub-game like Categories or Questions.”

Kings is the third online drinking game launched by the company in the last 3 months.  The other 2 games include Drunk Mario - a 5 level game modeled on Super Mario Bros., and Beer Pong - an online version of the real game that some people are fanatic about.

All of the games have been designed and developed by Drinking Games and are available for play exclusively on the company website.  The games are free to play, but players must understand that by using the site they are agreeing to a Responsible Drinking Disclaimer.

“You don’t have to play with alcohol at all,“ said Hudson during a recent interview.  “Many people play with water or juice, but some wingnuts have been known to play with teaspoons of hot sauce or other ridiculous substances.  You can also just play for fun by modifying the games with some house rules.”

While the current games on DrinkingGames.ME are best played using a desktop or laptop, Hudson indicated that mobile and tablet versions will be available in the coming months.  The site also encourages players to submit their own versions of Kings, as well as any unique house rules.

DrinkingGames.ME is an aptly named website dedicated to drinking games and its associated culture.  The site features articles and instructions for nearly 100 games, and has several other playable online drinking video games in development.  Kings is free to play for anyone who visits the website.  For questions, to schedule an interview with Russ Hudson or to order a press kit, please visit the company website at http://www.drinkinggames.me or call 1-802-738-0775
