ORANGE, Ca, AUGUST 6, 2012:  Movie Producer Craig Kitchens, the Chairman and Chief Visionary of Hometown Entertainment, launched the company’s first crowd-funding project at Kickstarter, on July 14th to raise $200,000 for the supernatural thriller Highway 395 the Movie. Hometown will promote this effort through social networking and direct email campaigns as well as traditional media channels.

Highway 395 has struck a chord with the movie industry. Here is an excerpt from an email about the script. “I read multiple scripts every single week, some okay, some need work, and every once in a while, one blows me away. Well, guess where I think yours lands; exactly - blew me away!... I’m not sure I’ve read a screenplay in many years where there is this fabulous combination of humor, suspense, love, anger, hatred, passion, and such incredible faith. It is trite I know, but I am seriously blown away.”

Seldom does an independent movie company get the opportunity to tell a story that deals with very important and current issues. Highway 395 is one of those stories. Highway 395 shines a spotlight on a problem that many returning veterans experience. They know how to live in the military, but can’t seem to make the transition back to family life. Many suffer from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and their solution is all too often lethal to themselves or others. As a matter of record, 18 veterans choose to end their life each day in America. We hope this movie brings attention to what these men are going through and how faith and family play a major role helping to heal these hurting soldiers.

Hometown plans to hire veterans to work on their movies from this day forward. Their first order of business is to fund the movie. They intend to try this new and revolutionary way of film financing. For more information, visit the Highway 395 Kickstarter project.
