Military Social Networking Promotes Military Events for Free

Listing military events from around the globe can be challenging. MilPages showcases events that are specifically targeted to a broad military audience to include veterans, those currently serving, and anyone else interested in such events.

Getting the word out about events to the military community just became a lot easier, now that the world’s first social networking site devoted only to military topics, has launched an events section.

“It allows military organizations, charities, and even units to post upcoming events for the community to check out and support,” said U.S. Air Force Sergeant Adam Mulholland, who created the military social network site called Milpages. “It’s a great way to get the word out about events that are important to the community. ”

Mulholland added that the free service provides exposure for events that focuses on military-type participation.
“The events are seen locally, regionally, and globally depending on the need of the event coordinator,” Mulholland explained. “The events that are put on the site are 100 percent relevant to the members of Milpages. It’s a very precise tool for organizations to target their core attendees. ”

Although the site itself launched a few weeks ago, online media and traffic experts say the site’s traffic numbers are growing each day, virtually guaranteeing that its core audiences of readers will see its news and events posted.

Larry Howe, 44, who recently retired from the U.S. Marine Corp., and now resides in Houston, said he’s very impressed with the new features to the site.

“After I retired, I started and organization called Prodigal Sons of The Military, which aims to help young boys of military parents who for whatever reason lost their way,” Howe said. “Often times we have events, but the problem is getting the word out, so being able to get the word out to promote an event for free on a high traffic site is all good. I will definitely be using this service. ”

That fits right in line with Milpage’s goal, which is to remain the first ever social networking site devoted only to military news and topics to bring people together that have a common interest, including military-related events.

“Unlike Facebook, we are focused solely on military topics or those things that have an interest to the military people around the world,” Mulholland said.
