JigoCity, a daily deals website offering online discounts of up to 91% off local experiences, today announced its support for a Group Buying Industry Code of Conduct as put forth by Spreets and Cudo. Prior to its launch last year JigoCity implemented its own vendor pledge with the aim of protecting its vendors from some of the more unscrupulous behavior engaged in by some group buying sites. However, with the introduction of an industry-wide Code of Conduct, established Tier 2 players like JigoCity will be able to separate itself from big and small players alike who have tarnished the industry’s reputation.

The introduction of the Code of Conduct will also serve the best interests for the consumer as they will have a stable backbone to ensure they are protected against false and misleading advertisers who threaten the credibility of the industry.
