Sallie Mae ’Smart Summer Sweepstakes’ celebrates summer with giveaways and financial tips for college students

Win $10,000 in college scholarships, concert tickets and weekly gift cards

Through the new Sallie Mae “Smart Summer Sweepstakes,” this fall’s college students have the chance to win $10,000 in cash for college, summer concert tickets and gift cards to major retailers.

Each week this summer, undergraduate and graduate students can enter at www.facebook.com/SallieMae to win money for college and other prizes. In addition to giveaways, the Sallie Mae Facebook page will feature student-focused financial tips throughout the summer, a crucial time when students and parents explore how best to pay for college and manage college-related expenses. In addition to free planning tools, Sallie Mae offers a free scholarship search, college savings and tuition payment plans, and responsible loans to help.

Through Sept. 2, college students enrolled for fall can enter by liking the Sallie Mae Facebook page and filling out an easy entry form online. Students can spread the word for additional chances to win simply by sharing the contest with friends on Facebook, Twitter or email.

Sallie Mae will award one grand prize winner with $5,000 for college, and two second prize winners will receive $2,500 each for college. Three third prize winners will receive two tickets to the Austin City Limits music festival on Sept. 18 (includes admission tickets, round-trip airfare and hotel accommodations for two). Nine winners will receive a $100 gift card to Apple, BestBuy, Nike or Gap. Prizes will be awarded throughout the 10-week sweepstakes.
