2011 San Mateo County Fair a Success

(SAN MATEO, Calif.) –The 77th Annual San Mateo County Fair Where “Innovation Meets
Tradition” has announced that the first few days of the 2011 Fair is a tremendous success, up over 30% in attendance, breaking records dating back several years.

This year’s fair branded “Where Innovation Meets Tradition” opened Saturday with three premier events including the Belmont Stakes. “We were also very excited to work with Adrienne Tissier of the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors on Emergency Preparedness Day and Congresswomen Jackie Speiers on Making It In America”, said General Manager.

Opening headline concerts included Air Supply, The Four Tops, Tower of Power and WAR. Coming up this Friday and through the weekend are Grand Funk Railroad and Pablo Cruise, plus attractions including the United States Tennis Association’s 8,000 square foot interactive display. In addition to these attractions we will also have the Walmart Game Center and of course many other displays including a first class carnival and food choices ranging from BBQ to Funnel Cakes!

According to The San Mateo County Event Center’s General Manager Chris Carpenter, “We have seen increases across the board and we are happy that our messaging, attractions and overall content have resonated with our community. Our mission is to make the Fair relevant while still maintaining our core traditions.”
