Sierra Wireless AirCard Enabled™ 3G connection to help mobile professionals work more efficiently on the go

May 9, 2006, Vancouver, British Columbia – Sierra Wireless (NASDAQ: SWIR - TSX: SW) today announced that Sierra Wireless HSDPA PCI Express Mini Card embedded modules will provide high-speed 3G connectivity to HP Compaq 6400 Notebook PCs later this year. In addition, the Sierra Wireless MC5720 EV-DO PCI Express Mini Card embedded module is incorporated in the HP Compaq 6400 Notebook PCs, following on the company’s successful EV-DO module integration into two HP notebook PCs earlier this year.

With the integration of Sierra Wireless Mini Card modules, AirCard Enabled™ HP notebooks will allow mobile professionals to quickly and conveniently access email and corporate information while on the go*, including large attachments and data-intensive online applications. With wide area wireless connectivity on an HSDPA network, busy professionals can work productively within cellular coverage areas – from a client site, park bench, or even the back of a taxi – without spending valuable time looking for hotspots.

“We are pleased to extend our collaboration with HP to provide mobile professionals an embedded link to HSDPA networks from their HP notebooks,” said Dan Schieler, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales for Sierra Wireless. “A reliable, high-speed mobile connection from an AirCard Enabled HP notebook can make a significant difference in the quality of life for those who need to work on the go.”

“The utility of business notebooks is increasingly being defined by their ability to connect to email and the internet, and our collaboration with Sierra Wireless is allowing customers to stay connected in more places at broadband speeds,” said Carol Hess-Nickels, director of commercial notebook marketing, HP. “HP business notebooks are giving customers a choice in network service providers and a truly global mobility option for international travel.”
