Logic PD’s Medical Practice Director to Discuss the Benefits of Android for Embedded Applications at ESC Chicago

MINNEAPOLIS – June 6, 2011 — Alan Cohen, Logic PD’s medical practice team lead and director of systems engineering, is speaking at ESC Chicago this week. Cohen is scheduled to present on Wednesday, June 8 from 10:10 – 11 a.m. CT in Meeting Room 31. His session, titled, “Android for Embedded Applications: Medical Devices,” will outline the benefits of using Android for embedded applications and for what types of medical devices Android makes sense.

About the Speaker
Alan Cohen has more than 20 years of experience in developing products both as a contributor and a manager, with more than a decade of this experience in medical devices. His background encompasses embedded hardware and software, with deep experience in the development of microcomputer-based devices subject to FDA regulation. He is experienced with the controls, documentation, and regulatory approvals required for regulated devices in the US and internationally. Cohen has written a college textbook on computer communications and numerous published articles on various technical topics. He holds eight US patents, and earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University.
