* Active collaboration with PSA
* Award for the Side View Assist on the Citroën C4 and HYbrid4 technology on the Peugeot 3008

Poissy/France – The PSA Peugeot Citroën Group’s seventh Suppliers’ Awards ceremony was held on 29th March 2011. During the event the PSA Peugeot Citroën Group’s Purchasing Department selected the Bosch Group as the winner in the Innovation category. The award went to the Side View Assist system for the new Citroën C4 and the HYbrid4 technology developed for the Peugeot 3008.

On receiving the “PSA Suppliers’ Awards, Innovation category” trophy, Bernd Bohr – Member of the Bosch Board of Management and chairman of the Automotive Technology business sector – first of all thanked PSA Peugeot Citroën for their trust and also underlined the fact that this award was the result of a long-standing partnership between PSA Peugeot Citroën and Bosch. Bernd Bohr concluded by recalling that “an innovative idea is not in itself sufficient and has to be supported by a customer brave enough and with enough foresight to ensure that the appropriate solution is brought to market. PSA Peugeot Citroën is a prime example of such a customer. So once again, I must thank you for your trust.”

Focus on two innovative technologies
The Bosch Side View Assist
Using ultrasonic sensors, the Bosch blind-spot monitoring system “Side View Assist” can register objects three meters to the side and diagonally to the rear of the vehicle. Its role is to assist drivers in dangerous situations, especially when changing lanes. In the event of a real danger, the driver is first of all warned by a visual alarm and then by an acoustic alarm.

Bosch hybrid technology:
The Peugeot 3008 HYbrid4 will shortly be launched as the world’s first full hybrid diesel vehicle. Bosch collaborated on developing the car and preparing it for series production, and will supply key electronic components such as electric motors and power electronics intended for the diesel four-wheel drive powertrain developed by PSA Peugeot Citroën.

The Bosch Group is a leading global supplier of technology and services. According to preliminary figures, some 283,500 associates generated sales of 47.3 billion euros in the areas of automotive and industrial technology, consumer goods, and building technology in fiscal 2010. The Bosch Group comprises Robert Bosch GmbH and its more than 300 subsidiaries and regional companies in over 60 countries. If its sales and service partners are included, then Bosch is represented in roughly 150 countries. This worldwide development, manufacturing, and sales network is the foundation for further growth. Bosch spent some four billion euros for research and development in 2010, and applied for over 3,800 patents worldwide. With all its products and services, Bosch enhances the quality of life by providing solutions which are both innovative and beneficial.

Bosch is celebrating its 125th anniversary in 2011. Ninety-two percent of the share capital of Robert Bosch GmbH is held by Robert Bosch Stiftung GmbH, a charitable foundation. The majority of voting rights are held by Robert Bosch Industrietreuhand KG, an industrial trust. The entrepreneurial ownership functions are carried out by the trust. The remaining shares are held by the Bosch family and by Robert Bosch GmbH.
