Audi MediaKiosk: Mobile press app for iPad and iPhone

Audi Communications is expanding its mobile services and once again demonstrating its Vorsprung durch Technik with the Audi MediaKiosk. Journalists and Audi fans can use the app on their iPad or iPhone to access information from AUDI AG quickly and easily. With the Audi app, the latest press kits, infographics, photo and video material as well as press books all about Audi are available anywhere and anytime.

The latest app from Audi Communications is the mobile tool for journalists and media professionals who travel frequently. “Editors looking for images and videos for their story while working on the road or who need to send information directly to their editorial office will no longer need a laptop – just their iPad or iPhone,” says Toni Melfi, Head of Audi Communications. The material is available in German and English.

Following the successful launch of the first AudiMedia App in August of last year, Audi Communications is now expanding its mobile offering with the new Audi MediaKiosk. The exclusive area of the app gives journalists registered with Audi MediaServices (www.audi-mediaservices.com) access to complete press kits on vehicle premieres, trade shows and special topics related to the brand with the four rings. In the main part of the app, Cover Flow enables them to quickly access texts, photos, videos and footage material on their selected topic.

Two special tools transform the iPad and iPhone into a mobile workstation: With the Send function, one click is all it takes to e-mail content in the desired quality to anyone, such as the responsible photo and video editors or back to the user’s own workstation.

Members of the media will find the proper contact at Audi Communications under the Contacts heading. From here they can either use the Call function or they can e-mail their questions directly to the person responsible. Users can even copy the contact details of the press spokespersons to their own address books. Audi MediaKiosk offers telephone and e-mail support for any questions media professionals may have about the app.

“A particular highlight of the app is the multimedia roadbook for driving events,” says Melfi. “This is where invited journalists will find all the facts about the respective models, and they can explore the test route on their iPad or iPhone at any time.” The routes are displayed via Google Maps. In addition, complete technical data on the Audi models are compiled in interactive infographics.

Downloads of the free app are not restricted to journalists. The program is also available to bloggers and Audi fans, who can use the public area of the Audi MediaKiosk. This is where they will find the familiar news ticker from the AudiMedia app, multimedia contents and press books plus an overview of the other apps from Audi Communications.

After the program has been installed, Apple’s iOS 4.2 and an active Internet connection are required to access the app’s content. Audi MediaKiosk is compatible with the iPhone 3GS and above, and will be available for additional devices and operating systems in late summer 2011.
