Rodeo Bull Sales Hit a Record at IAAPA 2010

The annual IAAPA trade show was back in Orlando, Florida, which will be home for the next five years. There were many old faces there as well as new ones; but one of the favorite companies was Galaxy America – The Rodeo Bull Company. This was their 12th year in succession exhibiting at the amusement industries premier trade show.

Celebrating their 20th anniversary in manufacturing mechanical bulls they had an impressive booth covering 120 sq feet of floor space; Galaxy have always had a full working model of their products on their booth. Mike Whincup (their design Director) explained “customers want to see what they are buying; you don’t walk in to a car dealer & see the engine stuck on top of a couple of wheels! I don’t quite understand companies who bring half a product & expect the customer get the full picture?” He went on to explain “customers want to see it, touch it and test it. This is why we always have full working systems in our booth. And this year was no exception; they had their best selling Regular Mechanical Bull system complete with the Old Glory flag themed inflatable.

They showcased two new themed rides this year; the Extreme Board Combo and Whirling Wizards, both of which were fully working and very impressive!

The Extreme Board Combo is based on the companies proven low profile motion base; it features three interchangeable extreme sports Surfing, Snowboarding & Skateboarding. The inflatable safety surround is themed in the style of a Half Pipe in a gray base color (very urban) they have cleverly incorporated strategically sewn Velcro strips that allow different colored theme vinyl sheets to be attached; a blue theme for the surf board & a white one for the snow board. To complete the options there are Velcro panels to the back & side walls to allow additional theming or advertising; each themed board can be interchanged in minutes. The new Whirling Wizards offers witches, spells & broomsticks! Hop aboard & have spellbinding ride. Galaxy America – The Rodeo Bull Company captured the magical moment with their new ride Whirling Wizards. As with all of the Galaxy’s products, Whirling Wizards can be bought as a full system complete with motion system & control console or as a ride attachment to use with a customers existing multi ride. In addition it can be used with the low profile motion base as would be used with a Surf Machine or with a mechanical bull motion base. Once again Galaxy capture the theme perfectly with the inflatable safety cushion designed as a Wizards castle!

Its not hard to see why the company is so popular. Their booth was always busy to the extent Robin Whincup (the company President) found himself with the opportunity to address 15 customers at once! When he had just a moment to take a break, Robin told me, “This is one of the best shows we’ve ever seen. We’ve had record breaking sales, not just with our standard rodeo bull ride but with the newer rides too. Sales has far exceeded our expectations!”

Looks like Galaxy America – The Rodeo Bull Company has found a great way to end 2010!
