Promo introduces touching and controversial new reality series

DENVER, NOV 17, 2010 – It’s not everyday that a former Las Vegas prostitute makes America look deeper into the complex issues of poverty, greed, addiction, lust and redemption, but the new series “Hookers: Saved on the Strip,” on Investigation Discovery (ID) aims to do just that. This new series broadens ID’s programming breadth and the network’s bold commitment to the series underscores just how groundbreaking the show is. For that reason, ID chose Impossible Pictures in Denver to create the ”Hookers: Saved on the Strip” promo, which launches on air Wednesday, November 17. This promo leads audiences to the “Hookers: Saved on the Strip” premiere as a new three-part series starting Wednesday, December 8 at 10 PM ET/PT on Investigation Discovery.

“Hookers: Saved on the Strip” stars a former prostitute, Annie Lobért, who takes to the Las Vegas streets to help women escape the cruelties of the sex trade. In each episode, Lobért uses a strong-willed yet compassionate approach to help women who are caught in the downward spiral of bad choices, drugs and violence, all of which are prevalent within the sex industry.

Because of Impossible’s long history of creating award-winning promos, ID had confidence to hire the agency to create a promo that captures the emotional nuances that permeate the series. The promo for “Hookers: Saved on the Strip” represented a new and welcome challenge for Impossible, which was to generate interest in a show about a taboo subject – prostitution. What’s more, for Impossible and ID, the promo needed to show more than simply the shock of seeing untold stories from within the sex industry on TV.

“‘Hookers: Saved on the Strip’ is a passion project for both Investigation Discovery and Impossible,” said Brian Eloe, associate creative director of Impossible. “There is a real desire to see this show be successful not only for the network, but because the subject is so interesting. It’s important that the promo is an honest and compelling snapshot of what the series will offer viewers, and for that reason, we worked extra close with ID to capture the essence of the series.”
