The ability for accurate tracking of people by mobile phone is very limited. Whilst it looks good in principle, a mobile phone can be switched off, transferred to another person or discarded, rendering the tracking capabilities useless.

SMS technology, after extensive discussions at Government level, have commenced manufacturing of Mtrak, a titanium bracelet that incorporates one of the worlds smallest ever custom made PCB boards with GSM, GPRS, RFID and GPS tracking chips measuring only 12mm by 12mm.

The custom designed tracking chip, encased in a titanium bracelet, is a huge breakthrough in tracking technology. Once the bracelet is placed on the wrist and locked, it cannot be removed, except by sending a unique electronic signal identifier to the microchip.

SMS technology Australia have over 1.2 million advance orders for the tracking service globally, giving the company an turnover of around 125 million AUD a year in fixed revenue and approx 45 million AUD a year in VAS revenue.

SMS Technology Australia are currently going through the process of listing on the ASX, with a view to raising capital for the expansion of the Mtrak system into China, Singapore, Malaysia and India. The company is looking to use the global sms short code +TRACK to allow smooth integration of its service in each country.
