April 12, 2006, Home Box Office announced today the launch of MaxOD150, the newly expanded Cinemax On Demand service, on Cablevision’s iO: Interactive Optimum® digital cable service. MaxOD150 provides consumers with 150 hours of movies and specials, dramatically increasing the offering by 300 percent. Cablevision is the first to offer the expanded subscription video on demand (SVOD) service to its iO: Interactive Optimum® digital cable customers throughout the New York metropolitan area.

“We’re excited about Cinemax On Demand’s expansion to the larger model,” said Dave Baldwin, executive vice president, Program Planning for HBO. “We look forward to offering viewers more great choices everyday, from the finest collection of movies on premium television. We applaud Cablevision’s decision to showcase the expanded Cinemax On Demand platform to their movie-loving subscribers.”

Drawing upon the largest premium television movie library, Cinemax On Demand’s MaxOD150 will offer five additional subcategories featuring programming from Cinemax’s multiplex channels: ActionMax® (hard-hitting action films), 5 Star MaxSM (contemporary hits and time-honored classics), WMaxSM (films with appeal to women) and ThrillerMax® (mystery, suspense, thriller and horror films) as well as “Indie Cinema” (films from outside the Hollywood mainstream).

“We’re thrilled to bring our iO digital cable customers even more on demand viewing options through Cinemax On Demand,” said Theresa Chillianis, Cablevision’s vice president of business strategy. “The capacity and capability of our two-way digital cable network delivers the most advanced digital television services available in the New York metropolitan area.”

Cinemax’s subscription video on demand (SVOD) product, Cinemax On Demand, gives subscribers unlimited access to the latest box office hits, classic movies and independent films, plus award-winning documentaries (“Reel Life”) and popular late night programming (“Max After Dark”) – all at the touch of a button. With the convenience of fast-forwarding, rewinding and pause, Cinemax On Demand provides consumers with more flexibility and viewing options. Selections are updated weekly, with big "Hollywood Hits’ available the Thursday before their premiere on Cinemax. For a full list of programming, visit http://www.cinemax.com/cablevisionmax150.

The MaxOD150 product launch will be supported by a range of marketing communications, promoting the expanded service via cross-channel spots, Cablevision’s interactive television guide, online initiatives and flyers. Cinemax on Demand is available to all iO customers for an additional $4.95 per month. Customers must also subscribe to the underlying Cinemax premium programming package.

With more than 2 million iO customers, two out of three Cablevision cable customers are iO digital cable customers, the highest digital penetration in the nation. iO offers customers access to more than 200 channels, including 50 premium movie channels, 45 channels of commercial-free digital music, more than 1,200 titles available on demand at all times, an interactive programming guide, 18 high-definition programming services and groundbreaking interactive television applications including subscription games packages.
