AOL Names Kathy Andreasen Chief People officer and Lauren Hurvitz Head of Corporate Communications

New York, NY, – AOL Inc. (NYSE: AOL) today announced the appointment of two new executives to its leadership team. Kathy Andreasen will join the company as Chief People Officer, effective October 25, 2010, and Lauren Hurvitz will join as Head of Corporate Communications, effective October 13, 2010.

Kathy Andreasen, who brings more than 15 years’ experience in the field of human resources, will oversee global people strategy, organization and leadership development and compensation and benefits. Andreasen will also be responsible for AOL’s real estate and facilities management.

Andreasen joins AOL from Orchard Brands, a leading multi-channel marketer of apparel and home products where she was Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. Prior to Orchard, Andreasen led HR for Bill Me Later, a subsidiary of eBay, and Orbitz Worldwide Inc. In addition, she has held a number of human resources leadership roles at Cendant Corporation as well as leadership roles in human resources and operations at NBCi. A graduate of McGill University, Andreasen also has an Executive MBA from the University of New Mexico.

Lauren Hurvitz, with 20 years’ experience in communications strategy, will oversee AOL’s global communications strategy, including internal and external communications, media strategy, media relations and employee communications; public affairs initiatives including community relations and philanthropy, and corporate events.

Hurvitz spent three years as Executive Vice President of Corporate Communications & Public Affairs for MTV Networks, where she managed all aspects of the networks’ corporate communications, standards and practices and corporate philanthropy functions. Hurvitz also spent nine years at strategic communications firm Robinson Lerer & Montgomery. A graduate of Duke University, Hurvitz also holds an MBA from Columbia University’s School of Business.
