NEW YORK - Anne Zehren has been named CEO of Kaboodle, the largest social shopping site on the Web, today announced Kenneth A. Bronfin, president, Hearst Interactive Media, a unit of Hearst Corporation. Zehren will succeed Manish Chandra, Kaboodle’s founder and CEO, who is leaving to pursue new business opportunities.

Zehren joins Kaboodle from Common Sense Media, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the media and entertainment lives of kids, where she served as president and COO. During her tenure there, revenues increased 100 percent, unique visits to the site quadrupled and registered website users tripled. She also spearheaded licensing deals with Facebook, Comcast, Time Warner, Best Buy, Fandango, Yahoo! and Google, among other media and technology companies.

“We are thrilled to have Anne join us at such an exciting time for the company,” said Bronfin. “Anne’s expertise in launching and building profitable media and Internet businesses, and her extensive background in women’s brands, makes her a perfect leader to build upon Kaboodle’s dramatic organic growth over the past four years.”

Bronfin added, “Manish has done an extraordinary job of growing Kaboodle from an online start-up to the vibrant, successful business it is today. We thank him for his years at the helm and wish him the best of luck in his next venture.”

Before joining Common Sense Media, Zehren was president for Current TV, which, under her leadership, experienced record growth. Prior to that, Zehren was the launch publisher for Teen People and held leadership positions at Glamour, Newsweek and NBC.

“Kaboodle is poised to benefit from all of the exciting changes happening in social media, advertising and online retail right now,” said Zehren. “I’m looking forward to working with the talented team here to leverage the strong website and community they’ve created and take the brand to the next level.”
