(Las Vegas, NV) McCann Systems was honored with the prestigious ARCHI-TECH AV Award, presented on June 9th at InfoComm’s annual tradeshow in Las Vegas, Nevada. One of six winners, McCann Systems was honored for their creative audio visual integration for the FOX News broadcasting studio in New York City.

Now in its eighth year, the annual ARCHI-TECH AV Awards recognize outstanding examples of creative and effective integration of technology into nonresidential buildings. The highly anticipated ARCHI-TECH AV Awards honor the best audio visual architectural projects in the industry. “It’s an outstanding accomplishment and speaks highly about a firm’s talents when their projects were chosen from so many outstanding audiovisual projects to receive an ARCHI-TECH AV Award,” said Leah Garris, editor of ARCHI-TECH.

The awards program was judged by a group of six renowned industry professionals, including architects, consultants, and integrators. Entries were evaluated using the following criteria: concept, design, innovation, scheduling, teamwork, and solution. Sustainability was also considered. McCann Systems collaborated with set designers at Clickspring Design to develop an iconic AV element for FOX News – an enormous, monolithic AV projection cube which serves not only as an anchoring AV element, but also distinguishes the FOX set and reinforces the FOX brand. Award-winning projects will be featured in AT Weekly, ARCHI-TECH’s e-newsletter, in September and October. In addition, each winning project will also become the subject of its own webinar offered to architects for AIA continuing education credit and CTS Renewal Units. The webinars will take place at 1 p.m. CDT on selected Thursdays from September 2 through October 28, 2010. Registration for the free one-hour webinars is available at http://www.architechweb.com

This marks the second time that McCann Systems has been honored with the prestigious ARCHI-TECH AV Award, winning in 2008 for their innovative audio visual integration of the world’s largest high resolution, edge-blended video wall which resides in the lobby of the Frank Gehry designed IAC global headquarters, located in the Chelsea District of New York City. http://www.mccannsystems.com/iac_conference_facility.html
