Cine-tal and Big Pic Media present Colour Management Training at Soho Film Labs in London

Two day training course in colour management for DI, VFX and video professionals to be held July13 and 14 at the Soho Film Lab, 8-14 Meard Street London

INDIANAPOLIS, July 1 - Cine-tal Systems, a developer of image monitoring and colour management solutions and Big Pic Media announce a Colour Management Training class for July 13th and 14 th at the Soho Film Lab in London. The two-day class will provide participants with a working knowledge in colour management for digital film & video production, digital intermediate (DI) & video post production, visual effects (VFX), HD & film print dailies, as well as digital projection. The class is lead by Cine-tal’s Michael Chenery, a leading expert in colour science for the digital cinema and video industry.

Professionals in the video and feature film industry responsible for quality control of colour across the entire production / post-production workflow should attend, including:
• VFX production supervisors
• VFX artists
• DI Post-production engineers
• CGI/VFX software developers
• Digital Imaging Technicians (DITs)
• Colourists

Participants will receive an introductory background into colour science and colour theory and colour models including XYZ, RGB and YCbCr, XvYcc. Participants will also learn about, gamma, logarithmic and linear encoding including Rec709, RedLog, Panalog, ArriLog, FilmStream and sLog. The two day course features hands on practice of transforming data between colour models, profiling display technology including digital projection, building look up tables (LUTs), and implementing colour management practices taught during the three day course.
