Nextgen Bluetooth Cuts Crime by 30%

WEBWIRE

Nextgen Bluetooth have made big progress over the past 6 months with Police Forces, Safety Community Partnerships and MAPS coordinated teams, Fire & Rescue Services and the NHS since becoming the first and only Bluetooth Company to acquire the Secured by Design (SBD) Award for our Bluetooth Server and unique Software product.

Last year Bedfordshire police set a Nextgen Bluetooth server up at Toddington Services on the M1 motorway for two months targeting the lorry park, and in particular foreign lorry drivers advising them to keep an eye on their loads and report any suspicious activity. Messages went out in a selection of the popular Western and Eastern European languages and during this time reported crime dropped by over 30% at this location.

When the Bluetooth server was withdrawn crime went back up. It has now been decided a further Nextgen Bluetooth server will be deployed at more or less the same time on a now permanent basis and has had a positive effect on crime figures.

Nextgen Bluetooth continue to work with police and local authorities to ensure that bluetooth marketing is not only a great tool for companies but an important one for public safety.
