93000 Pin Scale system and Audio/Video 8 chosen for testing high-speed mixed-signal devices at leading R&D facility

SHANGHAI, SEMICON China, March 21, 2006, Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced that Hong Kong Science Technology Park (HKSTP), Hong Kong’s integrated circuit (IC) development support center, has selected the Agilent 93000 Pin Scale system and Audio/Video 8 (A/V8) for testing high-speed and mixed-signal devices used in mobile consumer electronics and personal computers.

“We selected the 93000 Pin Scale system and the A/V8 because of the system’s cost-effective per-pin upgrade capability and high performance in high-speed, mixed-signal multi-site test,” said Ir. S.W. Cheung, Vice President of Business Development and Technology Support, HKSTP. “In addition, Agilent’s knowledgeable application engineers are able to complement the skills of our internal resources by providing advanced support for our tenants and customers.”

The scalability of the 93000 Pin Scale system makes it an ideal solution for HKSTP. The 93000 Pin Scale system is completely configurable, allowing each test pin to be flexibly and quickly adjusted to meet changing test needs and a full range of applications. This versatility allows the 93000 Pin Scale system to meet the requirements of HKSTP’s tenants and fabless customers, whose test needs range from high-volume, mixed-signal devices to high-performance microprocessors.

“The Agilent 93000 platform meets HKSTP’s need for both advanced performance and cost-effective solutions for its research, training and incubation efforts,” said Pascal Ronde, vice president of Agilent’s Semiconductor Test business. “The Pin Scale system will allow HKSTP to provide both its tenants in Hong Kong and its fabless customers in China with access to and training with the industry’s leading test platform.”

About the Agilent 93000

The Agilent 93000 provides a scalable platform architecture for testing systems-on-chips (SOCs) and systems-in-packages (SIPs) and high-speed memory devices. With more than 1,200 systems sold worldwide, the Agilent 93000 is the system of choice for subcontract manufacturers, integrated device manufacturers and fabless companies. The Agilent 93000 meets the industry’s demanding performance and cost challenges, whether for at-speed engineering characterization or high-volume production. The test system provides massive multi-site capabilities, enables data rates up to 10 Gbps and supports a full range of digital, mixed-signal and RF applications. The flexibility and performance of the Agilent 93000 provide faster time-to-market, better yields and lower overall cost-of-test.

The Agilent 93000 Pin Scale system includes the first-of-its-kind Agilent InstaPin performance library for optimized speed and memory asset utilization. InstaPin enables immediate software configuration to match the speed and memory performance levels of the device to be tested on a per-pin basis.
