Baltimore Bridal Show Postponed Due to Winter Storm

BALTIMORE, MD – February 5, 2010 – The Baltimore Bridal Show, one of the largest and most influential bridal events in the mid-Atlantic region, postponed its annual Baltimore Convention Center show scheduled for this weekend because of the major snowstorm that is forecast to hit the area.

“In the 15 years we have produced shows, this is the first time we’ve had to postpone a show due to weather,” says Marc McIntosh, executive producer of the show. “Brides are generally a motivated group that will often brave bad weather to make it to a show. Last weekend we had seven inches of snow the day before our show at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, Virginia. We made the decision to proceed and our attendance actually increased from last year!”

“This storm is different,” continues McIntosh. “With the projection that the storm could bring up to two feet of snow to the area, we did not want to risk the safety of our 200 exhibitors and 3500 attendees. We are fortunate that the Baltimore Convention Center was able to work with us to reschedule the show.”

The show will now take place exactly one week later: Saturday, February 13 from 5pm-9pm, and Sunday, February 14 from 11am-4pm.

“We’ve never held a show on Valentine’s Day, but it’s the day that 12 percent of engagements take place” he says. “A bride could get engaged over brunch and have her wedding planned by the end of the day!” For further information, visit www.BaltimoreBridalShow.com.
