Sales Results Show that Conventional Marketing Lacks Performance


Sales results and studies show that conventional marketing methods are steadily losing effectiveness. As he points out, however, the shift away from using conventional marketing methods and utilizing the internet effectively is difficult for many to accept.

“In most companies, especially small businesses, conventional marketing methods are the sole method of generating business. Business owners, managers and trainers simply haven’t accepted the reality that conventional marketing methods are becoming increasingly ineffective in today’s complex world and with the increasing popularity and use of the internet,” says Schibly.

He also warns that sellers of conventional advertising have an ulterior motive in pushing outdated conventional marketing methods.

“Sellers of conventional advertising are struggling. Businesses are experiencing cash flow problems and cannot afford to pump advertising and marketing dollars into conventional marketing methods that don’t produce a high return on investment of their marketing dollars,” he said.

Schibly cites numerous reasons for the decay of conventional marketing methods; the growth of the internet as the primary cause which has been accelerated by a weakening economy. He cites several studies that show that dozens of ways now exist for businesses to prospect and increase business and reach larger markets and highly targeted prospects without incurring the costs and low conversion sales rates of conventional marketing.
