Adaco Reaches $5 Billion Mark in Annual Purchasing Volume

Adaco software has processed $5 billion worth of food and hotel supply purchases globally since January 12, 2009, representing a 60 percent increase over the past three years and a significant milestone—even for the leading procurement software services provider in the hospitality industry.

“While that number may be impressive, what is more impressive is the amount of money our customers saved by using Adaco’s solutions,” said Sunil Ippagunta, the company’s president. “It is enough to buy 28 hotels or launch seven cruise ships.”

Ippagunta said the increase is due to two dovetailing phenomenon: management’s desire to cut costs without impacting quality, and a growing number of mid-size and smaller chains embracing advanced procurement management practices.

“Many regional or niche chains invested in procurement technologies early but the systems were focused on just procurement and not end to end cost management,” Ippagunta said. Adaco solutions have helped some of these customers see 15 percent reductions in the cost of maintaining inventories, according to Ippagunta. “As the largest and most constant expense, these costs are also the most predictable, but it requires a level of menu analysis and recipe management that typical procurement solutions just can’t touch,” he said.

The recent economic environment has forced a ‘rebirth’ in the hospitality industry of best practices, Ippagunta continued. “As the cost of food and other goods grew so did the need to properly control it. That requires menu engineering, production planning, real-time budget management, and integration with both POS and financial systems to capture accurate data without raising headcounts.”

It was also announced that Adaco will include an advanced vendor punch-out interface using CXML and one year free access to a vendor portal for all companies under $200 million in annual sales, or educational institutions under 10,000 students, that purchase Eclipse .NET™ hospitality management software by February 28, 2010.
