Carolina Parent Family-Friendly 50 list includes SAS for the eighth year

CARY, NC - SAS, the leader in business analytics software and services, is among Carolina Parent magazine’s Family-Friendly 50 Companies. Top companies provide creative programs and excellent benefits to help employees be productive and enjoy time with their families – even during this recession. This is the eighth time SAS has been featured.

SAS’ philosophy of reducing distractions helps keep employees engaged and focused and increases productivity, according to Jenn Mann, SAS Vice President of Human Resources. This is why SAS provides on-site services including healthcare, nutrition counseling, child care, parenting seminars, adoption support, elder care support, haircuts and exercise classes.

“We respect that each employee brings a whole person to work,” said Mann. “Everyone needs work/life balance.”

SAS work-life programs reflect what’s happening in the world including:

* Stress and balance programs focused on marriage/relationships and parenting.
* Financial planning, pre-retirement/retirement, and credit and budget management.
* Debt management and empowerment, financial anxiety and stress.

“At SAS, we invest in long-term relationships with our employees because we are committed to our employees’ long-term success. In turn, they are loyal and help the company continue to be successful,” Mann added.

Carolina Parent will publish its annual family-friendly list in the September issue of each regional North Carolina publication: Carolina Parent in the Triangle, Piedmont Parent in the Triad and Charlotte Parent. The list specifies family-friendly benefits at each chosen company.

The winners of the 2009 Top 50 NC Family-Friendly Companies will be honored on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at the Women@Work Breakfast in Durham, NC. The breakfast will feature guest speaker Ann Crittenden, award-winning journalist, author and lecturer. Her latest book, If You’ve Raised Kids, You Can Manage Anything, received critical praise and was featured in People magazine. Her previous book, The Price of Motherhood, garnered widespread media attention and was named one of the New York Times Notable Books of the Year in 2001.
