2009 SABRE Awards Names rbb Public Relations, a Marketing Public Relations Firm, ’Boutique Agency of the Year’

Firm campaigns win Silver and Iron SABRES

rbb Public Relations, a marketing public relations firm with offices in Miami and New York, was named “2009 Boutique Agency of the Year” by the Holmes Report at the annual SABRE awards honoring the best public relations programs of the year. rbb also won a Silver SABRE in the travel category for its work with a Mexico cruise port Costa Maya, and an Iron SABRE for its internal employee program.

According to the Holmes Report, the SABRE awards program recognized rbb as Boutique Agency of the Year based on the firm’s guiding principle of putting people first, which has lead to unusually high retention rates from clients and employees in an industry with traditionally high turnover among both.

The Silver SABRE was awarded for rbb’s work with Costa Maya, Mexico’s fastest-growing port and tourist destination, which was damaged extensively by Hurricane Dean in August 2007. rbb, working alongside the Port’s own marketing team, immediately began executing a plan to quickly gain back the cruise industry’s confidence in Costa Maya’s ability to fully restore the Port within one year and bring passengers back as soon as possible. rbb president Lisa Ross explained that the successful results of our campaign, titled “Seeing is Believing: Port of Costa Maya Keeps Its Promise of a Speedy Recovery,” were directly tied to the client’s business goals. “Less than one year after its catastrophic destruction, Costa Maya reclaimed 99 percent of its cruise line business and 63 percent of re-routed calls,” Ross said.

rbb also won an Iron SABRE award, which honors employee benefit and recognition programs. It was the firm’s “Employee-Driven Workplace,” which empowers employees to be architects of the firm’s growth that gave the firm an edge in achieving stellar business performance.
