Agilent ranked no. 1 in Process Diagnostics Equipment on VLSI Research "10 BEST" List

PALO ALTO, Calif., August 16, 2006, Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced that it has been recognized by customers as the best supplier in the Process Diagnostics Equipment category for its family of parametric test solutions in the VLSI Research 2006 “10 BEST” Awards. Agilent received the highest overall process diagnostics rating based on survey responses from customers representing 95 percent of the world’s total semiconductor market. Among the process diagnostics suppliers, Agilent ranked highest in the Uptime and Build Quality rating categories, and also tied for first place in the Commitment category.

“This survey data reflects the importance of accuracy and reliability in process diagnostics,” said G. Dan Hutcheson, chief executive officer, VLSI Research. “This endorsement from end-users confirms Agilent’s longstanding reputation of excellence.”

The VLSI Research annual Customer Satisfaction Survey on Chip Making Equipment is the only publicly available opportunity for chip manufacturers to provide feedback on their suppliers. The “10 BEST” rankings award special recognition to the suppliers that are rated highest by their customers. The results for the 2006 survey were drawn from a distribution of 44,130 questionnaires sent worldwide to companies in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, Europe and North America among others. According to VLSI Research, the companies that responded to VLSI Research’s customer satisfaction survey represented 95 percent of worldwide chip production in 2004.
