Honda Generators Named ’Official Generator’ of Talladega Superspeedway

Honda Power Equipment today announced a new sponsorship agreement with Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama. Honda’s series of portable generators has been named the track’s ’Official Generator’, joining a distinguished list of products offered by select sponsors of the facility.

As an official sponsor, Honda Generators will host an interactive display in the souvenir/display area at Talladega during each NASCAR® race to demonstrate its full-line of generators to race attendees. In addition, Honda representatives will be on hand to answer questions and provide support to the race teams, fans, vendors and campers that rely upon generator power at each race.

Talladega Superspeedway is the biggest, fastest, most competitive motorsports facility in the world. Records for both speed and competition have been established at the 2.66-mile superspeedway.

“Honda generators are an ideal match for one of the most competitive sport environments in the world, offering racing teams and racing enthusiasts durable and quiet power for a broad range of applications,” said Steve Bailey, vice president, Honda Power Equipment. “Honda Power Equipment is both honored and excited to be working with such a legendary and historical track.”

“We are proud to welcome Honda Generators to Talladega Superspeedway,” said Talladega Superspeedway President Rick Humphrey. “We look forward to displaying their products to our thousands of loyal race fans and sharing the strength of the Talladega Superspeedway brand.”

Honda Power Equipment markets a complete line of generators for commercial and consumer applications.

Lightweight, compact Honda generators produce between 1,000 and 6,500 watts of power, providing smooth, dependable power for recreation, construction, rental, and emergency use.

All Honda generators are powered by Honda four-stroke engines that make Honda generators among the world’s quietest. Honda generators for typical residential use average 68 -72 decibels (dB)(at rated load at 7m, average of four sides), with the Super Quiet series operating at noise levels as low as 49 dB, roughly the noise level in a private office.

In 2009, Talladega Superspeedway proudly celebrates forty years of the most competitive racing in NASCAR®. While the track has seen changes made to the cars that circle its high-banks, the surface that they race on and the grandstands that thousands of fans fill twice a year, one constant remains; Talladega Superspeedway is authentic NASCAR® racing at its finest.
