TNCI Signs Long-Term Wholesale Contract with AT&T for Voice, Data and IP Networking Solutions

AT&T* today announced that TNCI, a leading national telecommunications provider, has signed a multi-year wholesale contract with AT&T for a suite of communications services. The set of services that AT&T is selling to TNCI will enable it to provide an expanded portfolio of voice and data services to its customers. TNCI sells a broad range of solutions through its nationwide independent agent channel to small and medium businesses.

Under the agreement, AT&T will provide AT&T Network Connection (ANC), AT&T Voice Over Internet Protocol (IP) Connect Service (AVOICS), and AT&T Private Network Transport (PNT) service to TNCI. TNCI also uses AT&T local voice services under an existing contract.

TNCI is well known for its dedication to the independent agent channel and requires a product portfolio aligned with the needs of the business community nationwide. Redefining its role in the channel and recasting the mold of what a traditional ‘reseller’ looks like, TNCI developed and deployed its own TNCI suite of TNCInet™ Advantage private IP solutions.

“Our agreement with AT&T is an important step forward in a strategy that began with our TNCInet™ Advantage network deployment. We must deliver solutions that address the issues customers face today while making it possible for them to benefit from the latest available technology. Our agents must offer customers demonstrable improvements in cost, productivity, and efficiency while paving the way for the future of their business as well,” said Brian Twomey, president of TNCI. “We chose AT&T for its synergy with our strategy including proven service portfolio, single interface, provisioning and project management, so that we can focus on our agents and customers.”

“We are pleased that TNCI selected AT&T to support its business requirements, and are committed to providing our wholesale customers with the network-driven capabilities and applications they need to successfully compete in today’s environment,” said Sherry Charles, vice president, Wholesale and GEM Solutions Marketing, AT&T Business Solutions.

ANC and AVOICS are AT&T’s flagship wholesale voice TDM and IP voice platforms backed by the quality, reliability and reach of the AT&T global network. ANC provides high-volume unbranded transport and termination of long distance voice traffic over the AT&T network. As VoIP is increasingly being utilized, TNCI needed a proven network to deliver the service. AVOICS offers IP-based connectivity to AT&T’s network and termination of IP voice traffic over the Public Switched Telephone Network.

With the AT&T PNT service, TNCI will be able to offer its customers a flexible path to migrate from legacy data networks to a high performing, scalable IP-based network with the security and reliability demanded by its customers. PNT is a network-based IP VPN solution over the AT&T IP network, utilizing Multiprotocol Label Switching, an advanced switching technology. With class of service options and any-to-any characteristics that prioritize similar types of traffic from any network configuration, the AT&T PNT service makes it easy for TNCI’s customers to deploy emerging applications, add bandwidth at specific sites and receive great performance from real-time services.
