CA’s Paul Lipton Elected to OASIS Board of Directors

Appointment Expands CA’s Role in the Area of Open Standards

ISLANDIA, N.Y. – CA, Inc. (NASDAQ:CA) today announced that Paul Lipton, CA vice president, Industry Standards and Open Source, was elected to the Board of Directors at OASIS (Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards), a not-for-profit consortium that drives the development, convergence and adoption of open standards for the global information society.

“Election to the Board of Directors is representative of CA’s expanding commitment to support open standards. OASIS has become one of the most important standards development organizations in the industry, with activity that closely aligns not only with CA’s traditional interests in areas such as IT security and management, but also in important areas of interest such as telecom, energy, and automation,” said Lipton. “We are pleased to have a greater voice in the direction and governance of OASIS, and will endeavor to be responsive to the needs of the OASIS community while focusing on important areas such as financial stability, transparency, accountability, and open processes.”

Lipton has been an architect and developer of enterprise systems for over 20 years. Lipton also serves on the Board of Directors of the Distributed Management Task Force, Inc. (DMTF), the Eclipse Foundation, and the Object Management Group (OMG). He is a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional, a Sun Java Champion, and a founding member of the CA Council for Technical Excellence.
