Juniper Networks Names New Executives to Leadership Team

SUNNYVALE, Calif., February 21, 2006 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) today announced two appointments to its executive team. Steven Rice has been appointed to the position of executive vice president (EVP), Human Resources (HR) and Spencer Greene to the position of vice president (VP), Corporate Development. As EVP, Human Resources, Rice is responsible for building and strengthening Juniper’s global HR organization to support the company’s continued growth. In addition, Rice will oversee the company’s Real Estate and Work Place Services and will chair the Juniper Networks Foundation Fund.

In his new role Greene is responsible for all aspects of corporate development, including mergers and acquisitions, and will work closely with Juniper’s Enterprise and Service Provider Business Teams to support additional business development activities. Greene succeeds George Riedel who has left the company to pursue other opportunities. Both positions report to chairman and chief executive officer, Scott Kriens.

Rice joins Juniper from Hewlett Packard where, as vice president of HR, Global Operations, he was responsible for a worldwide organization of over 900 HR professionals supporting 145,000 employees. Rice’s long and distinguished career at HP spanned 24 years. During his tenure he held a number of leadership positions across different organizations within HR, including that of VP, HR for the Americas region.

Greene joined Juniper Networks in 1999 through the acquisition of Layer Five Inc., an intellectual property development and licensing company he co-founded. During his six years at Juniper he has held key leadership positions in corporate development and engineering. Prior to Layer Five, Greene held marketing and engineering positions in the semiconductor and personal computer industries. Greene holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering and French from Rice University, and a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University.
