PA Group appoints PA Entertainment Managing Director
20 February 2006, PA Group has appointed Nick Thomas as Managing Director of PA Entertainment. Nick was previously Head of Editorial Content for the division, which brings together all PA’s showbiz and entertainment content.
As the demand for entertainment content continues to grow, Nick will be responsible for strengthening PA Entertainment’s position in the market place. As Head of Editorial Content, he has overseen the growth of celebrity, real life and lifestyle features, showbiz news, TV and arts and entertainment event guides for print, web and mobile platforms.
Key areas of growth for 2006 include expanding PA’s customer publishing division, extending the overseas sales of features material and developing content for mobile platforms, including video and listings content. PA Entertainment is also planning the launch of a dedicated showbiz wire service.
Nick Thomas joined PA Entertainment in 2004 from Associated Press Television News (APTN). At APTN Nick was responsible for the agency’s entertainment TV news service and played a key role in generating broadcast content. He developed the UK’s first regular entertainment show for 3G mobiles.
Prior to APTN, Nick Thomas worked in editorial roles on a range of entertainment publications, including pioneering broadband website MyMovies.net, Flicks magazine and Moving Pictures International.
Nick’s appointment follows the move of former PA Entertainment Managing Director Jennifer Campbell to the post of Managing Director at recently acquired PA Group company Meteo Consult.
