AT&T Wins American Business Award for Information Technology Department of the Year

AT&T* today announced that its Information Technology Organization was named “Information Technology Department of the Year” at the 2009 American Business Awards ceremony, held June 22 in New York City.

AT&T’s IT organization, one of the largest in the world, was recognized for its work in creating technology solutions that transform business processes and market offerings in ways that create value and have a positive impact for AT&T’s business, customers, and partners.

The Stevie Awards organizes several of the world’s leading business recognition shows, including the prestigious American Business Awards. Nicknamed the Stevies, for the Greek word “crowned,” this year’s awards attracted more than 500 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry. The competition featured 27 categories for customer service and 41 categories for sales professionals.
