Atlanta, GA – Atlanta legal nurse consultant Liz Buddenhagen, RN, CLNC, attended the twentieth anniversary gala celebration of the Atlanta Chapter of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC) at White Columns Country Club in Alpharetta, Georgia on June 16, 2009.

Here’s the scoop:

The Atlanta Chapter of the AALNC celebrated the milestone anniversary by honoring its past presidents with certificates, corsages and recognition of their contributions at a delightful dinner program.

Headlining the entertainment was Jamie Bendall, Atlanta personal injury attorney and managing partner of The Punchline Comedy Club in Atlanta. Bendall had the legal nurses in stitches with his own comedic routine.

The recognition certificates were presented by Katie Morales, current president of the organization and Suzanne Langroth, current president of the national AALNC, which is based in Chicago. Kim Bunker, immediate past president, hosted the event.

The Atlanta Chapter of the AALNC was founded in 1987 and is a founding chapter of the national AALNC – the other two being Phoenix and Los Angeles. Members of the Atlanta Chapter have served as regional and national officers. Members hosted the 2006 National AALNC Educational Conference in Atlanta.

The AALNC is a non-profit organization dedicated to the professional enhancement of registered nurses practicing in a consulting capacity in the legal field. Serving as a resource for its members, it provides opportunities for continuing education, and exchange of information on matters relating to legal nurse consulting, medical care and healthcare law.

About Legal Nurse Consultants:

The AALNC explains that a legal nurse consultant (LNC) typically consults with attorneys to assist them with the medical aspects of their legal cases:
-- Experience. The legal nurse consultant has an extensive background of clinical experience, which included interpretation of medical records, documents, and medical-legal issues.
-- Cost-effectiveness. The legal nurse consultant utilizes their nursing background and knowledge of healthcare standards to identify strengths and weaknesses of a case.
-- Resourcefulness. The legal nurse consultant possesses a network of medical and professional resources and contacts.
