Award-winning film recounts President’s determined campaign against ‘Evil Empire’

LOS ANGELES (February 17, 2006) --- The critically acclaimed, award-winning documentary, In the Face of Evil: Reagan’s War in Word and Deed, will make its national television debut in a special broadcast by the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) on President’s Day, February 20, 2006 (10 p.m. EST/7 p.m. PST).

In the Face of Evil details President Reagan’s passionate campaign to bring an end to Soviet communism and reveals how his faith, determination, and unwavering conviction altered the course of world history.

Originally released in theatres in Fall 2004, In the Face of Evil garnered critical praise from all sectors of the media and was the recipient of several awards from the film industry and prominent film festivals.

William Booth of the Washington Post called In the Face of Evil “an epic homage to Ronald Reagan and his war on Communism.” The Liberty Film Festival ranked it the best documentary of 2004, calling it “a film of unusual scope and richness that clarifies the present struggle against terrorism as a continuation of the last century’s war against totalitarianism.”

The prestigious cinema critic Movieguide® noted that In the F ace of Evil “clearly exposes the evils behind the totalitarian regimes of Adolph Hitler and the Communists in the Soviet Union, Cuba and Latin America.” And Maggie Gallagher of the New York Post called the documentary a “must-see movie ... disturbing and deeply-moving ... I found myself weeping.”

Tim Watkins, president of Leo McWatkins Films and producer/co-director of In the Face of Evil, explained that everyone involved with the project realized the subject of the movie was one of the greatest Americans of the last century. “We wanted to tell the true story of this amazing man’s conquest and triumph over evil during the 20th century, the bloodiest and most barbaric century in mankind’s history,” he said.

Paul Crouch Jr, TBN’s Vice President of Administration, said TBN is thrilled to broadcast the national television debut of In the Face of Evil. “This fascinating documentary helps to reveal the faith of President Reagan and his determined efforts to triumph over evil with good,” he said. “Christians should be encouraged to watch this film with their children so they can see a side of history that may not be reported in the text books.”
