Gallery at Spencer Lofts opens a new group show in June 2009

Collaborative show of artists from Chelsea and East Boston explores a common theme

Chelsea, MA - Gallery at Spencer Lofts, 60 Dudley Street, Chelsea, MA, is pleased to announce their new show for June of 2009 entitled, “Connective Tissue”. The artists, 28 in all, will explore this theme in a variety of mediums and concepts, ranging from flat art and sculptures to more elaborate wall hangings and installation works. Some of the work will be created by individuals, and some will be the result of collaborative endeavors.

The show grew out of a desire on the part of several of the artists to foster a stronger sense of community between the artists in East Boston and Chelsea. The organizers arrived at the theme “Connective Tissue” to represent the things and ideas, which hold us together, both as individuals and in groups.

During the exhibit there will be two chances to meet the artists. The first is the show’s opening on Thursday, June 11th from 6-9 pm and the second opportunity will be the show’s closing on Sunday, June 28th from 1-3 pm. Additional gallery hours throughout the month of June will be on Sunday afternoons from 1-3 pm and Thursday evenings from 5-7 pm.
