WEBWIRE

Boots UK announced that it has given out a phenomenal 45 million Boots’ Advantage Card points to its customers through its Recycling Appeal (www.boots.com/recycle), run in conjunction with Redeem Plc.

Launched in June 2008, the national recycling campaign offers customers the chance to recycle old mobile phones and inkjet cartridges with the opportunity to earn up to 5,000 Advantage Card points by visiting www.boots.com/recycle.

Customers can now also pick up freepost envelopes in store, and as an introductory offer, Boots UK is offering customers the chance to earn an additional 200 Advantage Card points for every order returned up until 19th June 2009. This offer is limited to all listed mobile phones worth 300 points or more.

Simply pick-up a freepost recycling envelope in store or visit www.boots.com/recycle and enter kiosk2 in the promotional code section of the online checkout when you register your phone.

Robert Pearson of Boots UK said: “We are delighted that this appeal has had such success and that we have been able to reward our customers with extra Boots Advantage Card points to treat themselves in store.

“Customers have shown unprecedented support for this campaign which is great news as it not only benefits our customers, but also raises money for our two very worthwhile charities and we hope it continues to be a success.”

The campaign has raised around £60,000 for two of Boots UK’s chosen charities - Breast Cancer Care and The Eve Appeal. For every qualifying mobile phone handed in, Boots UK donated £1 to charity with an additional 28 per cent being generated from Gift Aid.

It couldn’t be easier to swap your mobile for points - Simply visit www.boots.com/recycle or call 08453 70 70 17 to value your phone and be sent a freepost envelope. The site will also tell you if your printer cartridge is a qualifying model. Alternatively, pick up a freepost envelope in any Boots store.

Thirty days after sending your phone or cartridge customers can pick up points from the Advantage Card Extra Offers Kiosks in store.
