Banamex Signs an Agreement with Chiapas to Provide Support to SMEs

WEBWIRE

Yesterday, Banco Nacional de México signed an agreement with the Government of Chiapas, forming a trust called “Facilitador de Acceso” (Access Facilitator) to facilitate access to financing to Small and Medium Size Companies (SMEs) in the State.

Facilitador de Acceso will allow entrepreneurs of this important sector of the Mexican economy to have access to credit under better conditions than the traditional ones, such as improved response times (24 hours on preauthorized loans), a lower interest rate, no opening fees and 0.5 percent annual fee, advisory services in the credit granting process, and not requiring a specific collateral.

Facilitador de Acceso is a trust where the State Government is committed to reimburse up to 10 percentage points of the credit cost, allowing customers to pay only 7 percent on the loan.

This new financing plan, designed by Banamex jointly with the State Government, will apply to loans starting at 20 thousand pesos, up to 3.5 million pesos. Customers will be able to apply for it in any Banamex branch in the State or through government offices.

“This program taking place in Chiapas is innovative and timely. I think it can be repeated in other states to generate the same effects,” said Banamex CEO Enrique Zorrilla. “We undertake with pleasure and conviction this timely and innovative financing program that is an example to be followed and multiplied, driving the best goals. On the one hand, it facilitates the protection of talent and the productive plant, and on the other, maintenance of fixed productive assets and their growth.”

Attendees at the signing of the agreement that took place in Chiapas City Hall were the Constitutional Governor of the State of Chiapas, Mr. Jaime Sabines, the Minister of Finance, Carlos Jimenez Bolaños Cacho and the Minister of the Economy, Ma. Del Rosario Pariente Gavito. On behalf of Banamex, Enrique Zorrilla Fullaondo, CEO of Banamex, Manuel Villalobos, Director of the South Division, and Boris Michelini Rodriguez, Regional Director of Banamex in Chiapas.
