Preston Automotive Group Sees Hope with Obama’s Fuel Economy Plan

The Preston Automotive Group of Preston, Maryland, learned today that President Obama along with many car industry and government leaders have introduced the framework to develop a national standard for fuel economy. Desired results of the plan are to increase fuel efficiency, decrease greenhouse gas emissions and bring the nation closer to energy independence.

Government officials believe that the new plan will increase the average fuel economy of cars on the road by 10 miles per gallon to 35.5 miles per gallon by 2016. Research shows that the new engine may increase fuel economy by 20 percent and reduce CO2 emissions by 15 percent.
