EDB enters into strategic outsourcing agreement with Strålfors

WEBWIRE

Oslo, EDB has entered into a strategic outsourcing agreement with Strålfors for its printing operations. This transaction is expected to help to strengthen the profitability of the IT Operations business area with effect from the second half of 2009.

EDB’s core business is IT services, focusing principally on the Nordic market. The company’s printing and envelope filling activities are peripheral to its core business, and in order to ensure greater focus and better profitability for its core business EDB has agreed to strategically outsource these activities to Strålfors.

The agreement will make Strålfors a subcontractor for printing and envelope filling services used by EDB’s customers in the public sector and the bank and finance industry. In addition, Strålfors will take over equipment and certain customer contracts representing around 75 full-time equivalent positions. This transaction is expected to help to strengthen the profitability of EDB’s IT Operations business area with effect from the second half of 2009.

The agreement is subject to approval by the competition authorities, and is expected to come into force with effect from 1 July 2009.
