General Mills Sells Cedar Rapids Facility on Wenig Road

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - General Mills announced today an agreement to sell its fresh bread mixes business to Georgia-based Flowers Foods for an undisclosed amount. It is the company’s understanding that Flowers Foods will operate the facility at 1000 Wenig Rd., NE, Cedar Rapids, IO, and retain employees after closure of the deal. The company acquired the plant with its acquisition of the Pillsbury Company in 2001.
