Symantec Completes Acquisition of IMlogic

WEBWIRE

CUPERTINO, Calif. - Feb 13, 2006 - Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC) today announced it has completed the acquisition of IMlogic Inc., the market leader in enterprise software for instant messaging. The acquisition agreement between Symantec and IMlogic was initially announced on Jan. 3, 2006.

With the close of this transaction, Symantec will make IMlogic’s IM Manager available to purchase through its messaging management portfolio of products. Symantec is the only vendor to offer a solution that enables customers to manage all of their business-critical messaging end to end. Symantec will also immediately work to integrate the IMlogic Threat Center into its early warning and response system, augmenting the current capabilities of Symantec Security Response and enriching the data Symantec provides through its Internet Security Threat Report.

“We look forward to working with a single vendor who can provide us with a comprehensive messaging management solution,” said Rorie Devine, director of information systems, BetFair.com, the first person-to-person betting exchange. “BetFair.com is a longtime customer of both Symantec and IMlogic, and based on our experience with the recent merger with VERITAS, we know Symantec puts its customers first during the integration process. We expect nothing less through this integration.”
