Manufacturers and exporters, Hockley International Limited, win UKTI International Trade Award.

Poynton, Cheshire, May 15th, 2009 – Hockley International Limited wins the prestigious International Trade Award at the Chemicals Northwest Awards at the Hilton Hotel in Manchester last night.

Short listed for both the SME Award and International Trade Award, Hockley International scooped the UK Trade & Investment award contending with excellent companies such as Brunner Mond and RS Clare and Co Limited. Judges revealed that the company’s superb international strategy and foreign language capabilities made the company shine out amongst competition. Sales Manager, Mark Murphy, commented, “The UKTI provides us with a vital source of information and support when entering new markets. We are thrilled to have won this award as it is in exporting, really where our focus, knowledge and experience have grown and so developed our company into the success it is today.”

It seems that the awards are not the only positive influx into the company, as this year it celebrates its 30th anniversary. MD and founder, Frank Howard says, “It is a positive and uplifting time for our company. We started as Mostyn Chemicals in 1979 winning a Queen’s Award for Export, and have since developed at a steady rate to reach our achievement today. In such challenging times, we are extremely proud of winning the International Trade Award. It is a testament to what we have achieved and I am delighted to be celebrating our 30th anniversary this year.”

Exporters to some 90 countries, the company specialise in the supply of products for agriculture, animal health, public health and industrial use worldwide. Hockley exports mainly pesticides, insecticides, acaricides, herbicides, fungicides and rodenticides.
