Pöyry Acquires Australian Engineering And Marine Consulting Company

Pöyry has expanded its operations by acquiring 100 per cent of the shares of Aquarius International Consultants Pty Ltd, an Australian engineering and marine consulting firm. Aquarius International Consultants employs about ten experts in its headquarters in Perth, Western Australia. The company’s annual net sales are about EUR 1.3 million and its business is profitable.

Established in 1997, Aquarius International Consultants is one of Australia’s leading independent offshore engineering and marine consultants and is highly respected in the offshore oil and gas industry. The engineering services of Aquarius International Consultants include offshore structural, naval architecture and marine operations and it has a clientele of international oil companies. The company will be consolidated into Pöyry as of 1 May 2009.

Aquarius International Consultants will become part of Pöyry’s Oil & Gas business area supporting global operations. After completion of the acquisition, Pöyry’s oil and gas expertise will cover multi-discipline engineering and consulting services across the complete oil and gas asset lifecycle, including deepwater engineering services. This acquisition supports Pöyry’s strategy to develop an internationally recognised Oil & Gas brand.
