Beauty Salon Lighting Wins International Beauty Industry Innovator Award

America’s Beauty Show ® held March 28-30, 2009 in Chicago brought together colorists, stylists, equipment and products manufacturers as well as industry dignitaries and celebrities. All in attendance were able to learn about new styling techniques, view live demonstrations and see all the new products on the market.

One of the first time exhibitors at the show was Eco-Lite Products (http://www.eco-lite.com), the manufacturer of Minardi Color Perfect Lighting. Eco-Lite Products owners Howard Gurock and Jeff Gasman, as well as their Business Development Manager Nick Pandoursky, were on hand to demonstrate and answer questions about the incredible new lighting developed specifically for salons.

Colorists, stylists as well as the major industry distributors, furniture manufacturers and designers all came by their very busy booth to view in person the new salon lighting fixtures that they all had been hearing about since the beginning of the year.

These light fixtures provide the perfect balance of color, brilliance, power and tone for colorists and stylists to excel at their craft. Since this salon lighting was introduced in January, salons across the country are raving about it and designers have begun specifying Minardi Color Perfect Lighting into their salon design plans as well.

These cutting edge salon lights were so impressive that Minardi Color Perfect Lighting won the prestigious International Beauty Industry Innovator Award at the 2009 America’s Beauty Show ® We are “… excited to have been presented with this award … our company, along with Beth and Carmine Minardi, spent countless hours designing, testing and modifying these lights until they produced the perfect balance of color, tone and power” said Gurock.

Minardi Color Perfect lighting is comprised of three different fixtures each of which has a specific function for a salon. Salons can greatly benefit from using one or all three of the lights. The task lights, which are a mere 22 watts, create a 3’ to 4’ circle of light around the stylists chair and project a perfect color making hair look the same both inside and outside of the salon. Gurock equates the task light as being “a “tool” for colorists and stylists more than simply just being a light”. This is due to the fact that the fixture itself permits colorists and stylists to work under optimal conditions enabling them to create colors and styles without having to take a customer to a window, sidewalk or back room to properly see the results of their hard work.

The mirror light, which uses under 10 watts of power, is essential because it eliminates circles under the eyes while adding a warm glow to the skin and an overall healthy look to the complexion warmth to the skin. This is the light the client sees as they are sitting in the chair. The ambient light provides general lighting for the salon. It has been designed to direct light up to the ceiling spreading an even canopy of bright light while simultaneously showering the salon with a soothing down light. This 70 watt fixture produces more light that a similar 300 watt halogen light fixture while significantly reducing heat and energy. Salons using fluorescent lighting, that struggle with the shadows and poor color quality that fluorescents are known for, will welcome the brilliance and tone that is emitted by the ambient light.

Being manufacturers of energy efficient lighting, Eco-Lite products is always developing new fixtures. According to Gurock, they are about 95% finished with the development of a salon mirror light that they have been creating alongside the Minardi’s that can be mounted directly to a wall and is powered by state of the art LED’s, only uses 7 watts of power and should last over 40,000 hours.
