Demonstrates key IMS applications such as TV on the Go at 3GSM

BARCELONA, Spain – 13 February 2006 –Motorola Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today unveils compelling consumer experiences across its IMS platform at 3GSM. The live demonstrations are based on leading-edge IMS applications integrated with the latest third-party solutions. Motorola is also adding key components to its IMS portfolio, the Motorola IMS Mobility Manager which enables voice call continuity, and Feature Server, for true seamless mobility.

The wickedly cool experiences include:
Are you a desperate housewife? never miss your favorite TV program; Motorola demonstrates TV on the Go with real-time channel selection and live TV streamed to a 3G UMTS handset.

See me, hear me, be with me: see a live video call from a 3G UMTS handset to a home or office based IP video phone, which demonstrates voice and data services being simultaneously sent across different environments; taking video calling to the next level.

Both of the above applications utilize the ultra-slim and fully featured Motorola RAZR V3x.

Share in the moment: know who’s there and include them in those once in a lifetime experiences -like your child’s ‘first steps’ or reaching a mountain summit -using simultaneous voice and video.

Hosted VoIP service – see Motorola’s IMS core solution used to facilitate hosted VoIP services using fixed or wireless networks. The demonstration includes subscriber access management as well as a control point for connection between service providers via the IMS platform.

“Our 3GSM demonstrations take us a step further towards the reality of Motorola’s Seamless Mobility vision,” said Margaret Rice-Jones, corporate vice-president and general manager, Motorola Core Networks. “Motorola’s IMS eco-system comprises our own solutions as well as integration with leading third-party application and content providers. Through our flexible approach to IMS, Motorola is committed to empowering operators when they look to evolve their existing network and service portfolio to differentiate their subscriber experience.”

The IMS Mobility Manager is designed to interface with customers’ own feature servers and softswitches and provides session continuity across different environments, allowing users to experience a truly seamless communications service. The Mobility Manager is based on Motorola’s IMS platform architecture.

The IMS Mobility Manager is based on open standards including 3GPP and is in-line with the TISPAN standards, which are expected to be ratified at the end of 2006.
With Motorola’s Feature Server operators will be able to offer voice and data services such as call forward and caller ID across multiple access networks including WLAN and WiMAX.
