Play65 Boots the Backgammon Bots

In its efforts to become the safest, most reliable backgammon room online, Play65 has formed an objective and independent Board of Trustees, designed to clean the backgammon room from its cheaters, mainly those who create an unfair advantage using computerized aiding tools, known as backgammon bots. Play65 Board of Trustees, composed of the world’s top backgammon pros, will examine every suspicion and complaint regarding a suspected abuse of bots, and once the three backgammon referees would approve the suspicion, the user will be immediately banned from playing backgammon on the site.

Assistance by computer programs such as Snowie, GNU, Jellyfish, etc, is one of the most common, yet difficult to detect, cheats applied in online skill games such as chess and backgammon. However, Play65 is not giving up yet. The largest backgammon room online has recruited some of the most biggest calibers in the professional backgammon circuit to serve as referees at its newly formed Board of Trustees, aiming to boot out the dishonest backgammon bots as much as possible.

Play65 Board of Trustees is made of external advisors who are committed to the subject of fairness in online backgammon and it includes American backgammon player and author Robert Wachtel, Japanese backgammon pro Masayuki “Mochy” Mochizuki and Israeli/American Giant of Backgammon Michael “Falafel” Natanzon.

“We have nothing against bots, but quite the opposite”, said Play65 project manager, “we encourage our players to use analyzing tools to improve their backgammon skills in their free time, that is why we enable our players to save and replay their game history. Yet, we aim to prevent situations when players gain unfair advantages over their opponents by running the game on Snowie. Tracking the cheaters may not be an easy task, but with the assistance of the greatest minds in the backgammon field, I believe we can track most of the cheaters, if not all of them.”
