Buenos Aires Film Commission Makes U.S. Entrance at AFCI Trade Show
- Interest ignited in globe’s top film producers regarding the city’s wide array of production capabilities -
SANTA MONICA, CA – The Buenos Aires Film Commission (BAFC) made its inaugural U.S. appearance at the 24th Annual Association of Film Commissions International (AFCI) Locations Trade Show earlier this month. Throughout the conference, BAFC’s representatives initiated numerous discussions with premiere producers, arranging location scout expeditions and scheduling future producer-BAFC consultations.
“We are excited about Buenos Aires Film Commission’s opening appearance in the United States,” said Alejandro Bonadeo, General Director of Investment Management for Buenos Aires. “A cosmopolitan ambiance with a dash of tradition creates a cultural experience unlike any other. When Buenos Aires launched the film commission, we wanted to help producers share this backdrop with the rest of the world, and this initial show has allowed us to illustrate at least a small picture of what we can offer. Our team comes away from this show with a renewed confidence in Buenos Aires’ capacity to be the core of South America’s motion picture industry.”
The City of Buenos Aires’ urban settings were highlighted throughout their trade floor display at the three-day convention. Visited by over 250 guests, representatives were able to spotlight the affordable locations and the numerous services available from the newly created Film Commission. At the show’s conclusion, BAFC sponsored a reception for many of the industry’s top business leaders and producers at the Argentine Consulate in Los Angeles.
