CASIO AND CHILDREN’S MUSEUM OF MANHATTAN BRING ARTWORK TO LIFE DURING WEEKEND WORKSHOPS; CASIO POWER PACK RAFFLE WINNER ANNOUNCED ON MOTHER’S DAY

Workshops Encourage Children to Create Mother’s Day Picture Then Use Casio’s Dynamic Photo Function to Make Memorable Photo Keepsakes for Mom

DOVER, NJ.— Casio America, Inc., along with the Children’s Museum of Manhattan (CMOM), is proud to announce two weekend workshops that are sure to bring a smile to mom’s face this Mother’s Day. On Sunday, April 26th and Sunday, May 3rd from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. children are encouraged to create a Mother’s Day picture. This picture is like no other Mother’s Day picture as a trained technician will merge the children’s hand drawn artwork and bring it to life with the snap of a camera! The picture will incorporate the moving child into a still background, creating a homemade movie.

Using the new Dynamic Photo function found in the EXILIM EX-S12 digital camera, a parent can take a picture of their child in motion and then cut and paste them onto their Mother’s Day artwork, with no editing needed on a computer. The high-speed image processing capability of the camera allows for a mini-movie to be created in mom’s honor. A still image will be captured from the mini-movie, allowing mom to bring home a lovely image of her child to put on the refrigerator.

Parents can then submit a copy of their child’s artwork into a raffle to win a Casio Power Pack featuring the brand new EX-S12, featuring Dynamic Photo, a camera carrying case, a memory card and Casio lanyard. The picture will be randomly drawn on Mother’s Day and the winner will be featured on the Children’s Museum and Casio web sites.

“We are very excited to work with the Children’s Museum of Manhattan to host workshops that celebrate Mother’s Day,” said Toshiyuki Iguchi, Senior General Manager of Casio’s Digital Imaging Division at Casio America, Inc. “The Dynamic Photo function allows for moms and dads to take fun and unique pictures of their children with maximum ease.”

Earlier this month, Casio and CMOM hosted, Picture This!, a program that encouraged children to leverage some of the latest technology available to find new ways to express themselves and think outside the box. The workshop provided parents the chance to learn other ways the EX-S12 could be used to create cost-saving items like birthday cards, holiday greetings and more!

CMOM is a leader in creating and implementing innovative and engaging programs that reach a wide audience of children and families. The museum presents workshops, exhibitions and performances created by a team of professionals and scholars to provide educational opportunities that help children from diverse ethnic, economic and cultural backgrounds develop their minds during their most formative years.
