SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.– Hypercom Corporation (NYSE: HYC) and Apriva today announced that Apriva has Class A-certified Hypercom’s popular SPOS32 payment software on the Optimum M4230 mobile payment terminal for the retail and restaurant markets. The high performance, PCI-PED-approved terminal features long-range GPRS with dial back-up, the industry’s top security certification, 32-bit multi-application processing for maximum transaction speed and 24MB memory that is two to three times larger than similar products to accommodate value-added applications such as gift and loyalty programs.

“Hypercom’s M4230 equips merchants with a complete point-of-sale solution that can be deployed in any end-use scenario, regardless of communications need. We are pleased that our resellers will be able to enjoy the many advantages that this highly versatile and secure product offers,” said Bill Clark, General Manager, Secure Payments Division, Apriva.

The certification enables credit, debit, gift, loyalty and check transactions on the Optimum M4230 to be conducted from virtually anywhere in North America using Apriva’s Intelligent Gateway, which is certified with all major merchant processors in North America. Apriva will offer a number of value-added services for the Hypercom terminals, including online reporting, order processing, terminal real-time provisioning and comprehensive customer management.

“Hypercom’s T4200 and M4200 product family brings an entirely new level of security, performance and ease-of-use to retail countertop and mobile payment. Apriva’s endorsement of our popular Optimum technology is an important step in broadening our market share even further,” says Bernie Frey, Vice President of North American Sales, Hypercom Corporation.
